Simply d by Delicious, Nu Sentral [CLOSED]

Introducing the latest offshoot of the Delicious Group (Creator of Delicious, Ben's, S.wine, Plan B, Barlai Pudu etc.) : Simply D @ Nu Sentral, a fuss-free & healthy fast food cafe that sets to delight your noodles & sandwiches cravings at a very affordable price.

After hearing praises from several bloggers, Guan Ren & I decided to drop by for a mid-afternoon meal. It was tough locating this place, as Nu Sentral was much bigger than I thought and we didn't know that Simply D is only accessible from outside the mall (facing KL Sentral). Just use the exit from KL Sentral that is facing O' Briens and you'll spot Simply D's vibrant & funky signboard :) 

The interior of Simply D was fresh, vibrant & funky. The bright, contrasting blue & orange colour themed cafe felt rather refreshing & cherry to me. The mood-booster atmosphere was enhanced by the staffs that greeted us with the utmost enthusiasm & warm hospitality. We simply felt at home at Simply D.

Even the stools at Nu Sentral is full of humorous yet wise quotes (with reference to food, of course)

The friendly staffs asked us if it was our first time here & explained how their menu works to us with utmost enthusiasm after we said yes.

At Simply D, one can customize their noodles according to their liking. Yes, feel free to choose your desired type of noodle to go with your desired cooking style! Feeling adventurous? Try a mix & match of East & West (Eg: Simply D Laksa + Fusilli!).  Don't worry, no one will judge you :P

Guan Ren & I decided to just share one Daily Special Set which was priced at RM16 (One bowl of Carbonara + Iced Tea). Our food was served in less than 10 minutes, simply impressive! 

Lemon Blast Iced Tea

A refreshing drink with the right amount of sweetness.

I was impressed. Even the drinks at Simply D is customizable! You can have Iced Tea, Lemonade or Iced Blended drink with different varity of flavours like Peach Tangerine, Mango Lychee, Green Apple, Red Berry or Lemon! 

Carbonara

Carbonara sauce with Crispy Turkey Bacon, Shredded Cheese & Tea Egg. 

We choosed Fusilli to go with out carbonara. The Carbonara served at Simply D is indeed an unusual twist to the typical carbonara, but you wouldn't know if it's good until you try right?

What say I? This unusual combination hit the spot, at least for me :P I liked how the light carbonara sauce blended in with the savoury cheese & the tea egg rich in herbal taste. The turkey bacon gives a contrasting crisp to the pasta which was simply addictive (note how I overuse the word "simply" in this post).  For such a hearty portion (+generous amount of shredded cheese!) , this bowl of pasta was worth every single cents we paid. 

I'd definitely like to return for more of their unique mix + match noodles concept. Simply d is opening another branch at The Curve @ Mutiara Damansara on the 21st of August & more around Klang Valley. Hopefully Subang Jaya soon? :)
