MYHERO: The Community App was officially launched on the 16th of July 2014 at Mezza9 Restaurant & Bar at Publika!

The night kick-started with an opening speech from the founder of MyHero, Wei Chi (Right) & an interesting & interactive session with the charismatic MC of the night

Ahh yes, I went on stage and...had a dance showdown with dancer/chereographer/part-time model Jaze. Needless to say, the outcome was...LOL

What exactly does MYHERO: THE COMMUNITY APP does?

"MYHERO is a local network which comes with epic superpowers to connect your loved ones and public community at the same time."

An app proudly made in Malaysia by Malaysians, MyHero is a new mobile app that keeps you connected to your community by allowing you to share & receive information around you, be it traffic reports, missing pets. complaints or even emergencies report!

My Hero has a simple, fool-proof yet creative interface that is easy to maneuver about.

Witnessed a crime? Got into an accident? Use MYHERO's SOS feature to send notifications to your loved ones and nearby heroes to get help! MyHero managed to help a user retrieve back his missing car at Penang

MyHero will send distress SMS to your emergency contacts (which, you have to select while installing your app) when you activate the SOS feature so make sure to pick your emergency contacts wisely!

The Report Feature allows you to report anything around you, ie traffic congestion, bad weather, rude customer service at a certain restaurant & so on!

You get to monitor what's going on around you through MyHero's Monitor feature. 

Another fun feature of MyHero- the Groups! Here's a small snippet of groups open to anyone to join at MyHero! There's a group for you to discover nice makan places, a group for Bangsar community, a group to find a SO (I kid you not!), & so much more! You can even host your own group to connect your local community! 

One rather cute feature of MyHero- you get to customize your own avatar! But to do so, you have to collect points to unlock more outfits for your avatar. By reporting an incident, you get 15 points. And by creating a group with 10 members, you get 20 points.

MyHero even comes with a floating launcher which grants you access to important features instantly, which is certainly a plus point during emergency situations.

MyHero is certainly a great app to connect & protect the community. The SOS feature would certainly come in handy in emergency situations and I'd definitely benefit from the report feature by being able to stay up to date of what's going on in my neighbourhood.

The only qualm I have about MyHero is that MyHero is constantly running as a background app thus it drains my battery fast. I can only force stop it to turn off the app.

You can download MyHero from your Android Play Store. Yes, it is FREE for all! Apple users, fret not as MyHero will be launching the app in IOS soon!
