When it comes to "Lorong Belakang" (aka Back Alley) in Malaysia, what is the first thing that cross your mind? Rats? Rubbish? Cockroaches? Dirty? Yes, our Lorong Belakang has always been associated with negative views & thoughts, which provoked the local councils to initiate an effort, alongside with the help & support from local artistes to give our back alley a facelift. Be prepared for a jaw-dropping surprise on the outcome of the project.
Bluebirds made out of plastic bottles and plastic bags!
Laman Seni 7, is a back alley located near I-City Shah Alam, transformed into a beautiful 3D street art gallery. A continuation of the Laman Seni 2 project (another street art gallery located at Seksyen 2 Shah Alam), this project focusses on improving our backlane, instilling appreciation towards art & architecture in our generation, as well as providing a platform for the younger generation to express themselves in the form of art.
I was thrilled to visit Laman Seni Seksyen 7! The last time I visited a 3D Art Gallery was last year in I-City where we were required to pay an entrance fee of RM5 (Do take note that their entrance fee has been revised and increased) & it was impressive! I was really looking forward to visit this place after reading about it on Yuh Juin's blog and finding out that it was FOC :PA picture speaks a thousand words. Please do enjoy the photos :)

"I don't even need to jump!"
Look closely...it is made out of plastic forks, spoons, plates & coffee stirer!
The perfect time to visit Laman Seni @ Seksyen 7 would be in the evening, around 4-5pm where the sun isn't blistering hot. The lorong wasn't really big, it was just a "U"-shaped lorong that is about 200m long I think, but one can easily spend up to an hour or two admiring the beautiful wall art & snapping photos. Do remember to bring along a monopod or tripod (which, we carelessly left it at home aiks)!
