Monthly Goal Review: July

Late again, but better late than never!

1. Be comfortable on my own

This month, I felt the FOMO-ness when I stay home during the weekend. I've been itching to go out more, just because I felt the "FOMO"-ness

2. Buy only clothes that are listed on my long-term planning wishlist
Failed this goal for the month of July.

This is hard! Especially now that there are sales going on all the time. Oh self-discipline, keep me accountable, please! I keep reminding myself that my wardrobe is running out of space. Long-term plan Jia Qi, long-term plan.

3. Initiate at least one event per month

Technically I didn't initiate this - it was initiated by our art guru of TFM, Huda. Would really want to take charge more in the next month.

4. Read at least two books per month
Books I've read in the month of July
The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
10 Minutes 38 Seconds in this Weird World by Elif Shafak

5. Doing a monthly review of my goals
On it :)

6. Do a monthly/weekly review of my spendings
Cameron Trip RM200
I was feeling rather down at the start of July, so I thought a getaway somewhere would be helpful.

Plants RM16 (From Cameron trip)
Running shoes RM260
It's never been so cheap before, and I really needed a new pair of running shoes!

Melaka trip RM100
Long overdue from April. I've spent a bit more on vacations this month but I feel that it was needed - I was feeling rather tired and burnt out.

Baking Supplies RM170
It is something I really enjoy doing, and it brings happiness to people too, so why not :)
Plates RM19
I definitely don't need these. But I just thought they would make lovely photo props :) and a nice serving dish when I have guests over.

Digital kitchen scale RM12.65
These are revolutionary for my baking. I could just place my mixing bowl on top of the scale and press "tare".
Rosemary plant RM12
Trying to get into edibles gardening too :)

New clothes RM192

New hair - I mean, dying my hair - RM260

Been spending lesser on plants this month, but my clothing expenses increased quite a bit. Saved significantly lesser because of the vacation + clothes spending.

7. Carry a notebook and pen wherever I go and jot down notes systematically
I struggle to create a SMART goal for this. I've been listening to podcasts when I drive to work and sometimes I hear some really good idea - just that I can only jot it down after I've arrived at my destination.

8. Try out something new each week
Week 1: Biscotti
Week 2: Knock-off DoubleTree Cookies

Week 3: Foccacia
Week 4: Blueberry muffins

Also made some banana muffins :)

10. Write more at least 100 words per day (not including what I write at work)
Make the habit obvious - by always leaving my blogger tab open, I am more likely to write :)

11. Log down news article I've read and jot down my thoughts about it, ie reading with purpose
I've been reading a little lesser in the month of July unfortunately.

12. Curate at least two content on @pot_tosynthesis every week (Stories/Post)
I have the tendency to slowly let go of things I've been doing. So this is something I am firm to keep it active and two content is doable/not too burdensome for me.

13. Set at least two little goals every day
This helps me focus throughout my day, and I feel more satisfied too, seeing that I have achieved something in a day, even though it might be something as simple as "go jogging" or "listen to podcast" :)
