MT Latte, Dataran Ara Damansara [CLOSED]

MT Latte, a new cafe in Dataran Ara Damansara, opened by a team of husband & wife with a great passion in coffee & food.
The discrete Dataran Ara Damansara shop lots area may be a little hard to locate, Waze or Google Map may come in handy. Located amidst car workshops , MT Latte has a striking signboard which is rather hard to miss , with the bold wordings and yellow & black stripes margin of the sign.

Expect smiles & greetings as you step inside this humble little cafe. Owner Nichole greeted everyone with utmost enthusiasm as they set foot into MT Latte. The compound of this cafe is slightly small, which gets a little pack with families during lunch hours in the weekend.

One couldn't help it but to admire the creative interior of MT Latte, which was meticulously crafted to suit the theme of construction & engineering which depict the major that Nichole's husband graduated from university.

Nichole is a self-taught barista. Her love and passion towards coffee brought her here today. MT Latte uses Degayo Dark Roast beans for their coffee.
Expect an array of local, western & fusion food served at MT Latte. Nichole stated that most of the food served here are inspired by her childhood's favourites, and all recipes & crafted by her & her family.
Speculous Latte (Hot) RM9.50
The Speculous Latte was the first thing on the menu that caught my attention. A simple google search reveals that speculous is a type of shortcrust biscuit which compose of different kind of spices. Feeling adventurous, I decided to give it a go- & I loved it!

Nichole did warn me that the Speculous Latte is not a drink for anyone. If you're a fan of Speculous Latte go for it!
Cappuccino (Hot) RM8.50
Roasted Hazelnut Latte (Cold) RM10.50
Nasi Lemak Sandwich RM12.90
Two slices of "Roti Bakar" (Toasted Hainanese Bread) sandwiching a thick-cut deep fried Chicken, sunny-side up, lettuce, ikan bilis & roasted groundnuts. Served with a side of MT Latte homemade sambal

The crunchy fried chicken, creamy egg yolk, savoury ikan bilis & their special homemade sambal went together perfectly. Their special homemade sambal was the spotlight of the dish- with the right level of spiciness and tangy-ness which hit the spot.

However, we thought that the fried chicken could need a little more seasoning- it tasted mediocre when eaten on its own.

Stewed Lamb served with Rice or Bread RM18.90
Slow-cooked Lamb cooked with carrots, cherry tomatoes & mushrooms
Nichole explained that the stew lamb was her family's secret recipe, which was clearly a crowd-pleaser. Each chunk of lamb was perfectly marinated & tender, bursting with flavours with each bite.
MT Breakfast Platter RM18.90
Choice of Sunny Side Up/Scrambled Eggs/Poached Eggs, popcorn hash brown, baked beans, chicken sausage & ham, roti bakar and a side of salad. A simple East meets West version of a big breakfast. I personally find the scrambled eggs overly salty.

Wow Fried Chicken with Thai Sauce
Crunchy fried chicken with a touch of orient. Nothing much to shout about.
