San Terri, Plaza Damas

San Terri Cottage Cafe has been around for years and has been the to-go place for cakes & tea to the Hartamas folks. Nestled at a cozy corner of Plaza Damas , San Terri has been delighting loyal customers with their homemade cakes & hot meals for years.
San Terri would be the perfect spot to wind down, or have a tete-a-tete session with its cozy sofas laid out on its premise. One can spend hours sipping on tea or coffee, accompanied with a slice of cake on the comfy sofa seat.
Green Tea Cake
San Terri's signature cake! The sponge layer was delightfully spongy & soft. It complements the soft & fluffy cream perfectly, which was embedded with red beans that gives the cake a delightful burst of sweetness. The taste of green tea was slightly milder though, which might be a let-down to matcha fans but it is really all up to preferences .
Oreo Cheesecake
The classic Oreo cheesecake, with a crumbly oreo biscuit base, followed by cream cheese layer embedded with chunks of oreo & finished off with oreo sawdust.
Red Velvet Cake
Moist red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting that has a sweetness that was just right. Definitely one of the more decent red velvet cake out there!
Chocolate Mint Mille Crepe
Chocolate crepe layer with alternating cream layer, topped off with a glossy layer of chocolate ganache. Mint lover would be delighted as the taste of mint was evident in this cake. I'm not such a big fan of mint so I can't comment much on this.
Bacon Salad RM15.90
Double portion of crunchy fried chicken bacon strip on a bed of coral lettuce, purple cabbage, chopped capsicum, cucumber & tomatoes. Served with balsamic vinegar & raisins to give it a nice sourish & sweet kick to balance up the flavours.
B.L.T Sandwich RM12.20 / RM13.25 (White/Wholemeal)
Triple decker sandwich consisting of double portion of fried chicken bacon, lettuce & tomato. Served with a scoop of homemade mashed potatoes, topped with crunchy fried chicken bacon bits. Patrons can also choose from 5 different homemade dressing to go with their sandwich! Wasabi, Apple, Honey Mustard Thousand Island & Spicy Tartar. We opted for the Wasabi dressing and it certainly spiced things up!
Blueberry Cheese Tart & Fruit Tart
A delightful afternoon sweet treat that isn't too heavy for the stomach.
Peach Tea
I have to admit that I was never a tea person but this pot of tea was a delight! Aromatic peach taste with a tinge of sourness. This pot of tea can be refilled up to three times before loosing its taste.

Honey Creme, Desa Sri Hartamas [CLOSED]

Trend watchers, a new wave of dessert trend has hit the Klang Valley. And this time round, it is soft serve ice-cream.
Dessert connoisseurs in the Klang Valley can rejoice as the organic premium soft-serve ice cream brand, Honey Creme, a popular Korean-style premium organic soft-serve ice cream brand has finally set foot in Malaysia!
Honey Creme is a Korean-style premium organic soft-serve ice cream brand, conceived through a fruitful Korean-Taiwanese business partnership. Its unique flavours and topping combinations can be credited to the ingenious health-conscious Korean partners while their Taiwanese allies are the marketing maestros behind Honey Creme’s cult following. Honey Creme has been enjoying brisk sales in countries such as home country Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Indonesia.
Ice creams have always been stigmatized as unhealthy and nutritionally deficient but indulging in Honey Creme does not have to be frowned upon and reserved only for diet cheat days. Specially handcrafted with premium organic ingredients from all over the world including South Korea’s top organic milk and creams, Honey Crème’s soft serve can be a healthier option with nutritional toppings like raw honeycomb, organic mixed grains, heart-healthy dark chocolate or simply the sinfully indulgent choice of popcorn or cotton candy toppings.
Signature Honey Comb Soft Serve
The Honeycomb Soft Serve is crowned with a golden chunk of raw honey comb is truly a sight to behold and a delight to the palate. The raw honeycomb provides a natural sweetness, packed with a variety of minerals, trace elements, amino acids, enzymes and other health giving properties into each serving of delectable soft serve.

Organic Mixed Grain
Dubbed by the people behind Honey Creme as ‘the nutritional ice-cream’, the Organic Mixed Grain is the choice for the waist or health conscious. The organic mixed grains blend of several nutritious grains and seeds (soy beans, brown rice, black sesame seeds, flax seeds, black beans, oats, rye, black glutinous rice, pearl barley) presents a unique multi layered aroma paired with the delectable taste of caramel that is drizzled to the soft serve. Based on a recipe created by renowned Korean royal court physician, Dae Jang Geum, this specific diet trend is prolific in Korea; which probably explains why Korean women are so often envied for their lithe figures.

Toridoki, Desa Sri Hartamas

A new Japanese restaurant is in town! Tori Doki, a Japanese restaurant specializing in Yakitori has invaded Sri Hartamas since July 2015.

Hailing all the way from Japan, Tori Doki is already well-established among the locals in Japan, with two branches located in central Tokyo. The current branch in Sri Hartamas is currently Tori Doki's first branch overseas!
What is Yakitori? Yakitori basically translates as grilled chicken skewers and are made from chicken meat of all different parts - breast, thighs, skin, liver, soft bone, heart and others innards. The chicken skewers are then grilled over the charcoal fire till perfection.
Tori Doki strives to serve authentic & quality yakitori in KL. All yakitori are prepared fresh daily to ensure the quality of food served is uphold.
At Tori Doki, customers can experience an authentic Japanese dining experience - I was greeted by the staffs Japanese style, with energetic shouts from the kitchen crew and a polite bow followed by "Irrasshaimase" (Welcome! In Japanese) by the kimono-clads server. Patrons can choose to dine in at the bar area, or the traditional tatami seating

Once you're seated , you'll be handed a cold wet towel & a FOC appetizer! How great is that :)
Otoshi (Appetizer of the Day): Yasai Shiraae FOC
The Otoshi served here at Toridoki rotates daily. I was served with Yasai Shiraae, a simple yet memorable cold vegetable salad dish with homemade peanut sauce dressing.
Konsai Salad
Root's vegetable salad.: Roasted pumpkin, sweet potato, carrots, lotus root, broccoli drizzled with tangy caesar sauce. Topped with shredded cheese, grated fresh upon serving.

I have to admit, the Konsai Salad served here was one of the most enjoyable salad I've ever had. All my favourite roasted roots vegetables in a dish!
Nagaimo Garlic Butter RM12
Japanese yam with garlic & butter fried till golden crunch perfection. Tad oily, but nevertheless a wonderful dish to snack on.
Sunagimo Ahijyo RM18
Chicken gizzard cooked with eight kinds of vegetables and olive oil served in hot plate. Served with a side of toasted french baguette.
Teba Age RM10
Deep fried chicken wings marinated with soy sauce.
Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside! I loved how well-flavoured the chicken wings were! Savoury with a slightly sweet touch, with a lovely crunchy texture.
Various grilled skewers.
From top: Toridoki RM8, Negima RM5 and Tsukune RM11

My favourite would be the Tori Doki: Tori Doki's signature yakitori. Chicken breast wrapped with chicken thigh, grilled till perfection. Juicy, tender with an irresistible smoky BBQ taste. Contrary to popular beliefs that breast meat tends to have a drier texture, the Tori Doki was surprisingly really tender & juicy.

The Tsukune (meatball) is made by blending different parts of chicken meat and marinating with sweet sauce. Negima features grilled chicken thigh & leek. The yakitori were all executed very well, probably one of the best yakitoris in town!
Tori Maruyaki RM45
Roasted whole chicken marinated with red wine, salt, pepper, sesame oil for 24 hours. Served with Bamboo Salt, Chili Sauce & Ponzu sauce.
Another signature dish in Tori Doki - The chicken was so tender & flavourful I could just eat it on its own without any condiments! Do allow 45 minutes to 1 hour cooking time. Fret not, as you can drop them a call in advance to reduce your wait time.
The friendly server will "dissect" the chicken for you, so just sit back, relax, and enjoy the "show" :)
Dashimaki Tamago RM14
Japanese omelette. A simple yet delightful dish that is prepared fresh upon ordering.
Cheese Yaki Onigiri RM12
Grilled Oigiri (Rice Balls) stuffed with Camembert cheese. Topped with generous amount of cheese powder & bonito flakes. Imagine sinking your teeth into the slightly crisps crust of the grilled rice ball, infused with savoury soy sauce, then fluffy layer of rice & creamy, hot melted Camembert cheese. Mhhhhmmmm

Alternatively, you can opt for the regular Yaki Onigiri for RM10.
Houjicha Pudding RM10
A refreshing dessert that is not too heavy on the palate, not too sweet nor cloying, with a hint of aromatic houjicha taste to balance it off. Yum!

Verdict: Really good yakitori & unconventional Japanese dishes! Service was top notch and the atmosphere was pleasant too :)
