Having read so many positive reviews about Two Scones One Cup on blogs & social media sites, I finally had the chance to pay Two Scones One Cup a visit with my friend a while ago. It was a little hard locating this humble little cafe, as it is tucked at the corner lot of a shop lots amidst residential area.
The decor at Two Scones One Cup was kept simple yet chic at the same time. El Fresco dining area is available for customer who wishes to have their afternoon tea surrounded by green and fresh air, although it can be a little hot at noon time.
Even though we were there on a weekend evening, Two Scones One Cups was packed to the brim! We resorted to seating outdoors, but moving in afterwards when there was empty tables as the hear was unbearable.
Two Scones One Cups is the brainchild of five good friends - Horng Qing, Kun Quan, Eugene, Nicholas and Natasha. The deco inside was as quirky as the name of their shop! Feel free to grab a post-it note provided to leave a message on their wall!
Two Scones One Cups is not just about scones and cups. They also serve a variety of local & western cuisine and a relatively affordable price! I am rather keen on trying their Risotto which is only priced a RM13.90! On my next visit, for sure!
Matcha & Black Sesame Scones
Plain Scones
The varieties of scones here rotates daily. A set of two scones cost RM9 .
The variety of cakes & cupcakes here at Two Scones One Cup is impressive. All cakes are freshly baked in house by their talented bakers here at Two Scones One Cups. Cappuccino RM9
Tea Time Set RM49.90
Two-Tier tea time set served with a pot of tea.
Top Tier: Choice of two scones and three macarons. We had the Raisins Scones & Plain Scones and the Chocolate Macaron, Coffee Macaron & Raspberry Macaron. The scones would definitely be the highlight here. Warm, crumbly, light & fluffy. Just how I love my scones to be. I'd prefer the Raisins Scones over the Plain Scones as I love the sweet fruity burst of raisins with each bite.
Bottom Tier: Jam & Cream, Chocolate-swirled Marble Cake
Finger Sandwiches & Orange Cake
What I love about the cakes here is they all tasted rather homey and humble. The cakes are simple yet satisfying. Finger sandwich was pretty decent, it served as a great respite from all the sweet treat we had. Only qualm was this set was definitely more than enough for the two of us!
With the four founders of Two Scones One Cup.
Verdict: Really good scones, friendly people & a cosy tea-time ambiance. Would definitely drop by again one day for the scones again, and perhaps to try out their really affordable risotto & pastas!
